IngenuiTEA 2 is the next generation model of our bestselling ingenuiTEA loose leaf tea infuser. When tea is ready, simply place it atop your cup. This will cause a valve at the bottom to release: crystal-clear tea flows down, while the fine mesh filter retains all the leaves. This model is equipped with a removable plastic filter, making it super easy to clean and maintain, ensuring a longer lifespan. Also comes with a handy coaster, ideal for office use. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Made of BPA-free plastic and fits cups up to 9.5cm in diameter.

I love the original InginuiTEA, so this updated version would have to be something really special to impress me. While it doesn’t disappoint, it’s not the game changer the original was for me. The removable filter makes cleaning easier, but the spices in my masala chai get stuck in the sharp corner of it. The ovoid shape gives good presentation value, but it’s slightly more annoying to stir. I have no need to put it in the microwave, so that perk is lost on me. The only true improvement is the inclusion of the drip tray, which would be better if it was a hair bigger. Overall, it seems like a lateral shift from the original design.
**UPDATE** There’s one significant weakness in the IngenuiTEA line’s design. The hinge where the lid attaches is a bit flimsy. Both my original IngenuiTEA and my IngenuiTEA 2 have broken hinges. If any part of this tea maker needs a redesign, it’s the hinge/lid attachment. ”

“ I bought this to replace my old grotty and wore out GROSCHE Aberdeen Tea Steeper ... may it rest in peace. The IngenuiTEA 2 is the perfect replacement. It’s very easy to clean and take apart. It does a great job of blocking any of them nasty rooibos, mate, and herbal bits and pieces from my cup. My SimpliciTEA Teapot doesn’t do a very good job of that. Thus, I’m very pleased with my IngenuiTEA 2 purchase! ”
